Planet Dance: body talk, levels 1–3

Learn to talk Body! Online animation hit Planet Dance (a visitor's guide to contemporary dance) has 3 new episodes - Body Talk: a 3-step course in how dancers communicate

Planet Dance: Body Talk levels 1-3

OMG! Planet Dance has been way more of a hit than I could have imagined. Since it was published 4 weeks ago, the first episode of this animation series, styled as a visitor’s guide to contemporary dance (animation by the marvellous Magali Charrier, directed by the man-with-the-vision Chris Thomson for The Place), has received over 15,000 views!

That’s for a video about contemporary dance. Can I say: aww-SOME!?

And we’ve have loads of encouraging comments and feedback, and not a few enquiries about translated versions (dude, it’s a planet!).

Since then, we’ve also uploaded the second part of the animations, called Body Talk (taking the current Planet Dance viewcount to around 22,000).

Think of Body Talk as your local language primer: a 3-step course in how dancers communicate. It takes about 3 minutes to complete each level of Body Talk, so you can go from beginner to advanced in 10 minutes.

Come ON, guys, just do it already.

You can see the three Body Talk animations below, but if you’re arriving on Planet Dance direct from this post you might want to start with the Welcome video, or go to the complete Planet Dance playlist.
