I’m busy with talks this weekend! Tonight (Friday 20 June) I’ll be at Sadler’s Wells Sampled festival to give a free talk called “Five windows for viewing dance”. (Teaser: one of those windows gives onto a brick wall…). That’s at 18:45–19.15, Rosebery Room, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London, right before the evening show Rian, by Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre.
Then tomorrow (Saturday 21 June), I’ll be rushing from my first ever attempt at ice skating for an event at the Wellcome Collection, London, with Shift, the senior youth dance company at The Place. There will be a short performance by Shift, and I’ll be talking about “body talk” and how we sense and make sense of dance, while Shift creative director will talk about making dance. We’ll be running the session twice, from 14:00–15:00 and from 16:00-17:00. Details: http://www.wellcomecollection.org/whats-on/events/ori.aspx
Both events are free.
